Integrating behavioral health services in a medical setting provides behavioral health expertise to the medical team for assistance in managing the overall health of patients.
It also increases access to behavioral health services to a population of patients who otherwise wouldn't seek it out.
Introducing you to an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with interest, training and experience integrating behavioral health services into primary care settings.
This position is located in Southern Maine Health Care Pediatrics in Kennebunk, well-established practices offering complete care to patients.
Pediatrics is evolving its practice to now offer both traditional pediatrics as well as developmental pediatrics to the community and is expanding its team in doing so.
The integrated behavioral health clinician position is full time at 40 hours and include benefits.
Your role would include providing screening, assessments, and focused interventions to patients of the practice.
Treatment structure includes individual, family, and group work, meeting with patients in person and virtually.
Persons interested in this position must be comfortable working with kids of all ages, 0-24.
Experience working with substance use preferred.
Your work is enhanced by being part of a medical team with solid experience in integrated work, in addition to collaborative work with psychiatrists and other integrated clinicians in the MaineHealth system.
Individual supervision, group supervision, and quarterly trainings are added benefits of this position.
This position will be a generalist Master's Level mental health Clinician with interest, training and/or experience integrating mental health services into the primary care setting.
This position will be placed in primary care practices, work with adults, families and children; and provide assessment, screening, and referral services.
Additionally, brief individual therapy, prevention and educational services will be provided and include collaborative work with primary care physicians and their office staff, psychiatrists and other behavioral health providers.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education:

Licensure by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (preferred), or licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (by exception).
Must have a valid Driver's license and reliable transportation.
Experience:

years of work experience in a health or mental health setting preferred, in order to have proficiency in psychosocial assessment and treatment.
Must have considerable knowledge of community resources and agencies and how to use them in resolving complex problems related to health, illness and disability.
Knowledge of social work theories, therapies and techniques, as used in individual, family and group treatment, as well as principles of social welfare.
Ability to teach basic social work principles and applications to the medical setting.
