Scope of Position:
In this role, you will be the subject matter expert automation processes and drives fundamental understanding across Corning?s Life Sciences Division. You will handle Automation process support for Division-wide or multi-plant projects. We will look for you to maintain knowledge of the latest technology developments within the manufacturing automation industry, while supporting the consistent application of new technology and standard methodologies while driving implementation of Division Manufacturing Strategy. You will champion continuous improvement activities, including new technology implementation and fundamental process understanding, in support of cost reduction and quality improvement projects. You will follow and ensure compliance with Corning's Intellectual Property management process and any intellectual property developed as part of a project is properly documented.
Position location can be in our facilities at Kennebunk, ME, or Tewksbury, MA.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
+ Provide technical and business direction in the specification, development, installation and testing of manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
+ Create project plans (scope, schedule, cost estimates, project acceptance criteria, etc.).
+ Establish receivership requirements for project.
+ Lead capital spending projects as assigned.
+ Handle schedule and resource conflicts.
+ Understand customer equipment and capacity needs.
+ Ensure their expectations are being met.
+ Coach and mentor engineering personnel as appropriate to build and use skill sets to enhance the project team?s effectiveness.
+ Develop short and long-term equipment strategies to achieve process production, quality, safety and financial goals.
+ Collaborate with and support Research & Development and Division Engineering on new product introductions, process enhancements, raw material changes, and equipment design modifications.
+ Ensure all engineering related activities are conducted in accordance with established design and process control procedures.
+ Be an advocate and role model for safety within their area of responsibility.
+ Responsible for his/her safety, as well as that of others that may be at the facility, whether working or visiting.
+ Responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting any unsafe conditions.
+ Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to reduce manufacturing costs.
+ Documenting SOP, SOS, experiment planning, and process changes.
+ Support manufacturing on multiple shift schedules in a fast-paced production environment.
+ Actively participate in project meetings and document key issues, action items and decisions.
+ Effectively participate in all phases of project methodologies to include appropriate initiation, planning, implementation and control, and close-out elements.
+ Share expertise and knowledge to cultivate continuous improvement of the organization (project team or functional unit).
Travel Requirements:
+ Up to 50% travel for project support, including international travel.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
+ M-F 40+ hrs.
Required Education:
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Sciences.
Required Years and Area of Experience:
+ Minimum of 5+ years in engineering, instrument/process/product development, systems integration, or process equipment design and implementation.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
+ Required Knowledge of manufacturing methods, systems, production processes, and controls systems.
+ Demonstrated delivery of results through project and organizational leadership.
+ Proven track record of performance results and people development.
+ Demonstrated track record of engineering/technical accomplishment.
+ Excellent social and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
+ Project Management skillset.
+ Strong CAD experience.
Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:
+ Life Science business knowledge; FDA requirements knowledge.
+ Prior experience in a plant or division engineering group; multi-plant oversight.
+ Performance Excellence training ? green belt or higher certification
+ Solidworks expertise.
+ Project Management training.
+ LEAN manufacturing training.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
