Scope of Position:
In this role, you will be the subject matter guide for coatings and chemical processes and will drive fundamental understanding across Corning?s Life Sciences Division. You will provide chemical process support for Division-wide or multi-plant projects and maintain knowledge of the newest technology developments within the surface modification and chemical processing and manufacturing industry, while supporting the consistent application of new technology and standard methodologies.
Role within Group:
+ Drives implementation of Division Manufacturing Strategy.
+ Champions continuous improvement activities, including new technology implementation and fundamental process understanding, in support of cost reduction and quality improvement projects.
+ Ensures Corning's Intellectual Property management process is followed and any intellectual property developed as part of a project is properly documented.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
+ Lead and direct engineering resources.
+ Support and provide recommendations to the Division Technology roadmap (including maintaining a knowledgebase of the latest technology).
+ Drive implementation of new manufacturing technology.
+ Division Coatings and Chemical Process SME including focused areas of material, processes, and process equipment.
+ Provide process support to manufacturing plants as needed.
+ Drive fundamental understanding and problem-solving skills.
+ Develop coatings or chemical processes for new product introductions.
+ Participates in product design reviews.
+ Provides guidance to respective engineering groups to ensure optimized manufacturing process.
+ Works with other supervisors in the Manufacturing Technology group to develop and implement process standards/best practices and ensures compliance within manufacturing plants.
+ Lead the debug and validation of new coatings and chemical processes.
+ Ensure compliance to all plant and division standards.
+ Use rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps.
+ Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects.
+ Provide support to Automation department and vendors during development of automated chemical systems.
+ Use statistical tools and Design of Experiments (DOE) in process problem-solving and product/process improvement.
Travel Requirements:
+ Up to 40%, including International travel.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
+ M-F, 40+ hrs.
Required Education:
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Chemistry.
Required Years and Area of Experience:
+ Minimum of 7 years in a chemical process engineering role working with chemical process development and debug.
+ Experience within the manufacturing industry.
+ Leadership or direct management experience.
+ Chemical process knowledge coating process knowledge.
+ Experience working with multi-functional groups.
Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:
+ Advanced degree in Engineering or Chemistry.
+ Experience in the life sciences industry.
+ Performance Excellence Green Belt Certification.
+ Analytical skills for chemistry or coatings (FTIR).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
