Manufacturing Supervisor (3rd shift)

Scope of Position:


In this 3rd Shift Supervisor Role, you will direct team operations group to achieve Cost, Quality, Health and Safety objectives. We look for you to execute the plant plan objectives at the tactical level focused on continuous improvement.

Day to Day Responsibilities:



  • Execute operating plan to achieve team objectives.

  • Provide immediate supervision to subordinates to execute assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.

  • Review team performance with team members at regular intervals.

  • Build effective relations with plant support groups.

  • Conduct hourly/direct labor employee performance reviews and provide coaching as needed.

  • Ensure team executes documented operating procedures and follows established document control protocols.

  • Ensure the protection of Corning's Intellectual Property (IP).

  • Implement and monitor training and certification plans.

  • Hold reports accountable for adherence to established procedures and setpoints for process control; ensures awareness and compliance to changes.

  • Limited, less 10%

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:



  • 3rd shift, Monday ‚€“ Friday, general hours 11:00 pm ‚€“ 7:00 am.

Required Education:



  • Bachelor degree.


¬ 


Required Years and Area of Experience:



  • 3 years' work experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial labor relations (union or union-free). Will consider related military experience.

  • 1-year previous supervisory or leadership experience.

  • Experience working on technical problems or teams with technicians.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Bachelor of Science (Engineering or technical)

  • Certified Green Belt.

  • Ability to handle employee relations.

  • Safety, Health, Environmental compliance.

  • ERP (SAP or PeopleSoft) experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
